What Is a Force Field Analysis?
The force field analysis is a tool used to make decisions during the various change management programs in an organization. It helps you identify and analyze forces for and against change or the implementation of a proposed solution.
How to Do a Force Field Analysis with Creately?
- Identify and define the change you want to make. To do so, understand the current state of things and set achievable goals.
- Gather a relevant team and brainstorm (using a mind map) the factors that are most likely to be changed/ impacted. List them down on a Creately force field analysis template.
- As you prefer, share the force field analysis diagram with your team with a diagram link and give them easy access to edit the diagram in real-time with Creately collaboration features.
- Next, brainstorm and identify the factors that would show resistance to the change you want to apply. List them down on the diagram as well.
- Assess the driving and restraining forces. Rate them from strong to weak based on the impact they have.
- Examine the forces and try to figure out which forces are flexible and have some capacity to be influenced.
- Develop a strategy to strengthen the driving forces and minimize the impact of the restraining forces.
- Identify the resources you’ll need to deploy your strategy and the action steps. You can use a process map to outline the steps.
